Iggy Pop: American Idol
Lets see what he gonna do. Those of you out there who are not necessarily fans of Iggy's seminal band, The Stooges, may have been left shaken and a little confused. It's okay. Just forget it ever happened and keep humming Constantine Maroulis's rendition of "Unchained Melody." But for anyone interested in hearing Iggy at the top of his form, well, check out this nugget.

Million in Prizes: The Anthology

A rock ‘n roll legend graced the stage of American Idol tonight as Iggy Pop performed ‘Real Wild Child’ as only he can.  Though 63 years old, the rockin’ icon’s performance was reminiscent of his younger days with his fit and trim physique and energy galore.

If current American Idol contestants want to know how to rock the joint, impress the crowd, and make them jump and scream, then Iggy Pop is a great mentor for them tonight, The audience responded with an enthusiastic and ‘wild’ standing ovation following his performance.

It was a shocking elimination night on American Idol as judge - favorite Pia Toscano was eliminated and Jennifer Lopez was left red-faced by Iggy Pop. Toscano was kicked off the singing competition after the viewer vote, much to the dismay of the judges. Just eight contestants now remain.'I can't believe what just happened here,' said J-Lo. 'I'm shocked and angry – I don't know what to say.' Randy Jackson added, 'I'm with Jennifer, all in shock.' Jennifer Lopez had to look away during Iggy Pop's performance of Wild One as he gyrated his hips just inches from her face during his performance. She was the last judge to her feet to applaud the legendary punk rocker.

Lebron James Joins Liverpool

Lebron James Joins Liverpool

Basketball star Lebron James has become a minority stakeholder in Liverpool after signing a representation deal with the club’s owners.
Fenway Sports Group (FSG) has struck a deal to partner the Miami Heat player’s marketing firm to become his exclusive worldwide representative.
The report in the Wall Street Journal said James received an undisclosed stake in Liverpool as part of the deal.
“This is a great opportunity for me,” said NBA star James.
“The first time I stepped on an NBA court I became a businessman.”
Referring to Liverpool’s title honours James added: “Eighteen championships. I see myself trying to do the same things they have.”
The Wall Street Journal said Maverick Carter, chief executive of LRMR Branding & Marketing, had expressed his desire to build James’ portfolio internationally.
“We’re not interested in talent or athlete representation but we think he is one of the most remarkable athletes of his time,” FSG and Liverpool chairman Tom Werner told the newspaper.
“We believe we can open doors for LeBron and LeBron can open doors for us. Without purchasing Liverpool, we never would have been able to have this conversation.” (BBC Sport)
Lebron James is of course one of the biggest sportsman in the world, not just in physical terms, and the awarding of a small stake in Liverpool Football Club is very interesting indeed although amusing when Miami Heat’s coash Eric Spoelstra was asked about the breaking news he stated,
“[Liverpool] is a soccer team, right?” Spoelstra said. “I’d love to see LeBron even kick a soccer ball.”

GLENN BECK: leaving fox is tough

Glenn Beck's departure from FOX came out tonight in the aftermath of today's surprising announcement.
Beck spoke about it at the end of his show tonight, noting that leaving Fox was "something I've been thinking about doing for a long time" before going on to reassure viewers "we will find each other...I will continue to tell the story and I'm going to be showing you."
And then, in typical Beck fashion: "Paul Revere did not get up on the horse and say 'I'm going to be doing this the rest of my life, he got off the horse at some point."
Meanwhile, in an interview with the AP, Roger Ailes seemed to concede the split was mutual and echoed a similar sentiment:
"Half of the headlines say he's been cancelled," Ailes said. "The other half say he quit. We're pretty happy with both of them."
"We felt Glenn brought additional information, a unique perspective, a certain amount of passion and insight to the channel and he did," Ailes said. "But that story of what's going on and why America is in trouble today, I think he told that story as well as could be told. Whether you can just keep telling that story or not ... we're not so sure."
Video of Beck's remarks below.  He says he will be on till the end of the year, but it's hard not to wonder from his tone tonight whether this was it.  Video below.
