Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi become number one in the ATP World Tour Doubles Team Rankings

Adding to the joy of India’s cricket World Cup triumph, veteran tennis players Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi won their second title of the season by clinching the Sony Ericsson Open Miami to become number one in the ATP World Tour Doubles Team Rankings. Third seeded Bhupathi and Paes rallied to beat second seeded Belarusian-Canadian pair of Max Mirnyi and Daniel Nestor 6-7(5) 6-2 10-5.Paes had, in fact won the title even last year with Lukas Dlouhy but for Bhupathi it was his first career title at Crandon Park.“The key (to us winning) was just fighting as a team. Like Leander said, we didn’t play our best match of the week.



The Indian Express duo were up 6-5 in the first set but let it slip by conceding a break and never had a lead in the tie-break. “We had a chance to win that set but we didn’t take it — threw away the breaker pretty much,” Bhupathi said. Bhupathi and Paes found their rhythm in the second set and were also helped by a double fault by Nestor in the fourth game. That enabled the Indians to take a 3-1 lead and they never looked back after that. “My level dropped after the first set. We didn’t get enough balls in play and they served better as the match went on. Max played well, so I feel bad about that. But we played against a tough team today,” Nestor admitted. The win takes the Indians ahead of World number one Bob and Mike Bryan for first place in the ATP Doubles Team Rankings and in the battle to qualify for the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals.


 It is Paes and Bhupathi’s second team title of the year, following the Chennai Open at the start of the season. “It’s still early for us. The season is broken down into four segments — this is just the first of them. If we’re still No. 1 after the US Open, then we’ll start getting excited,” said Bhupathi. Paes finished runner-up to Nestor and Zimonjic with Lukas Dlouhy last year at the French Open, after he and the Czech won it in 2009. “We love playing on the dirt. We got a month off now to get ourselves physically fit and get ready for a lot of long matches on the clay,” Paes said.


 “The clay definitely helps us because we train so hard for it over the years but at the same time there are a lot of singles guys who play well on the dirt too. Online Test

1. The Online Test will be of 120 minutes duration with 100 questions to be answered. The question paper will be in English language.

2. The Online Test will be on computer. Candidates should have basic knowledge in usage of keyboard and mouse.

3. No separate (printed) question booklet/answer sheet will be issued. Candidates will be issued with working sheet for any manual calculations/working if required. The working sheets must be returned on completion of test.

5. In the online test candidates have the option to browse the question paper. There will be four options for each question. Candidate can select the right answer by clicking on the appropriate option using the mouse. Visit the above site for sample test.

Directed by Prawaal Raman and produced by Nameeta Nair (Imagik Media Pvt. Ltd.) film 404 has Nishikant Kamath and Rajvvir Aroraa in lead roles. Tisca Chopra and Satish Kaushik will be seen in supporting roles. The film is Nishikant’s second Hindi film after “Mumbai Meri Jaan”.

404 is about a locked room of a famous medical college. The story revolves around a very smart and renowned professor Anirudh who believes in science strongly, and a new student of 1st year Abhimanyu who is not scared of ragging and stands against it.

Professor is very impressed with Abhimanyu’s rationality and decides to give him room 404 which is locked because of rumours of paranormal activities. Professor believes that Abhimanyu can help in rubbishing all the rumours about room. But when Abhi shifts there he faces something which he had never believed. He is confused of what to believe? Is it all in his mind or it’s real. But professor believes that “All is in one’s mind,” his strong belief in science doesn’t allow him to believe in supernatural activities.

Arunima Sinha Tragedy

Star India batsman Yuvraj Singh announced a Rs one lakh monetary help to national level football and volleyball player Arunima Sinha who lost her leg after being thrown out by robbers from a running train near Bareilly.

Yuvraj, who was adjudged player-of-the-tournament in the cricket World Cup which India won after 28 years, described Arunima a "brave sportsperson" and wish her a speedy recovery.

"It is really unfortunate and tragic with what has happened to Arunima. She must be brave sportsperson who came forward to fight against robbery. I know the loss is irreparable, but I would like to offer her this little contribution of one lakh rupees," he said in a statement issued by 'Yuvraj Singh Foundation'.

"I wish her a speedy recovery and in future if she I am of some help she can always contact me," he said.

Arunima alias Sonu lost her leg after she was pushed out of the Padmavat Express near Bareilly on Monday night by three men trying to snatch her gold chain when she was travelling to Delhi to appear for a CISF examination.

As she lay on the tracks, another train ran over her left leg. She had fractures on her right leg and also suffered head injuries.

Railways has offered her a suitable job while sports minister Ajay Maken announced a Rs two lakh medical compensation and an immediate ex-gratia of Rs 25,000.(PTI)
